The aim of this lecture is giving an overview (not general, of course) on recent advances in computational neuroscience. For the sake of completeness, we will start with classical tools linking neurophisiology to differential equations and, then, concentrate on the description of some models to illustrate recent theoretical contributions to the study of vision. We will end focusing on the problem of the estimation of conductances and its relation with bifurcations
